September, 14 2004 in Hampton, Maryland
One year ago, Captain James Summerfield, a PTSD suffering ex Marine returned home from three tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. An IED explosion killed all but one of his 18 men on a routine reconnaissance mission. All his attempts to recover from the enormous life changing tragic event are not successful. Not able to cope in society, he is forced into a life of seclusion and subjected to bouts a violent behavior.

His extremely loving and supportive wife, Joanna tries to keep the household together. She desperately does everything she can to protect their two year old daughter Lily from James. She sends her to stay with Joanna's parents. She manages to keep all the violence a secret but Billy, James' older brother is the one that starts to figure it out. When he notices Joanna's black eye, he begins to question her.
Joanna does everything she can to hide the truth about James, but it's only a matter of time before the bomb EXPLODES.
